Stare far enough out
Into the vast expanse and you
Can see the lone tree
Blast from the past:
The lone bat flying
Along its own wind current:
Accident or choice?
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.

Stare far enough out
Into the vast expanse and you
Can see the lone tree
Blast from the past:
The lone bat flying
Along its own wind current:
Accident or choice?

Skipping stones into
The Patagonian wind,
It throws them right back
Blast from the Past:
Here as always
Skipping stones beyond
The edge of the world

May you ascend
One beat after the other
Into your beauty
Blast from the Past:
As the world now comes
Into existence, may you
Find tranquility

I can now let sleep
Overtake my weary eyes
Z z z z z
Blast from the Past:
May sleep’s sweet release
Free you from all the swings of
Longing and desire

Our collapse won’t give
Us the dignity of a
Violin to play
Blast from the Past:
Are we flying, or
Simply falling more slowly,
Prolonging our crash?

The sun of freedom
Only radiates more brightly
When forced into a dark chamber
Blast from the past:
No more politics
To dilate our eyes as we
Look upon the world

Anticipation
Irresistibility
Exhilaration
Blast from the Past:
The roving wind
Patterned air pushing more air
To a new cycle

Standing there, luring
Despair astray, erasing
Expanses of hope
Blast from the past:
In the darkest night
The lonely moon still shines.
Hope for dark days ahead

Bored in a meeting,
Scribbling down a haiku,
But no one can see.
Blast from the Past:
Sitting with your work
Wondering who will read it
Utter loneliness

I wander through these
Fugitive worlds. My face my
Only companion.
Blast from the past:
Hunger for beyond
Do not choose this illusion
Freedom is the key
