There on the front line
In between the heartless system
And the humans it hurts
Blast from the Past:
Why do we let our
Human lives be confined by
Our inhuman worlds?
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.

There on the front line
In between the heartless system
And the humans it hurts
Blast from the Past:
Why do we let our
Human lives be confined by
Our inhuman worlds?

Our heart builds callouses
So that we can seem to keep going
As the world just takes and takes
Blast from the Past:
Layer by layer
Learning what led to our world
A bottomless well

The little droplets
As I race by, a whole world
In the fading dew
Blast from the Past:
Water drop colors –
Unique in how it reflects
Back light from its world

Each time we breathe in
It is a gift that grounds us
Back into the earth
Blast from the Past:
It’s strange how easy
It is to lose our ground for
Everything we have

Our memories form
Like molten iron smelted
In our hearts bright fires.
Blast from the Past:
Convulsing I sit
Expecting it again, in
Memory of shame

We evolve based on
Our cycles, no sooner, no later
Than our own time
Blast from the Past:
Sometimes the things we
Need most are not the things we
Think we need at all…

The dog howls upwards
Hoping its cry will make the
Thunder go away
Blast from the Past:
From their rich singing,
You’d never know cicadas
Are about to die

After a long day,
I have the normal ritual
Figuring out which
Of all these many switches
Turns off the lights in my room.
Blast from the Past:
Charging at the foe,
Viewing it as a fight means
You already lost

What beauty is left
By the scorching sun
After the dew fades?
Blast from the Past:
The sea, singing the
Elegy of exodus,
Surrendered us up

I race through the clouds
Of Euphoria, thinking
Work is almost done
Blast from the Past:
Tiring work to just
Stay put. The modern world is
Really a treadmill.
