(I wrote this haiku while on the road without enough internet access to post it day of, so I posted later when I internet.)
Blast from the Past:
Yes, waterfalls flow
Without purpose or plan but
With much direction and force
Emerging intent
Racing downwards as
Quickly as possible to
Appease gravity

When you think you have all that

Today, I felt like writing a haiku in Java. It’s a programming pun, based on the common word “string” in programming lexicon but also the idea of string cheese.

I’m my soul’s riches
No landscape but what we see
Inability to dream

When you think you have all that

Will I ever find
A contentment that will quench
My thirst to explore?

Standing at the edge.
This is my world. What wondrous
Waterfalls await.
How many we are
What seas crash within us
Our armored contempt

The waves keep rising
While all around clouds darken
Hope lies in the deep
Normality is
Overrated. Everywhere
I look they seek it.

Professional survival:
Evasive banality
Good and normal lie
Writer’s paradox
Literature simulates life
Impossible shepherds

Eye of a budding writer
I’m so sick of words
More adventures will
Be there for you tomorrow.
Now go get some sleep.

Losing consciousness

Inexplicable boredom
