Race of suitcases
Flurry of sandals and heels
Leaving the subway
Blast from the Past:
Sitting on the subway,
Buried in the exhausting
World of franchises
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.

Race of suitcases
Flurry of sandals and heels
Leaving the subway
Blast from the Past:
Sitting on the subway,
Buried in the exhausting
World of franchises

Oh, spring renewal
A time to fix old mistakes
By making new ones
Blast from the Past:
A spring sky so clear
That you feel you are seeing
Into tomorrow.

Another moment
When my thoughts are racing and
I’m hoping for sleep
Blast from the Past:
Revel in darkness.
Woke up afraid of my shadow.
Sleep off my demons.

Here on the toilet
Trying to write a haiku
Soon I will be done
Blast from the Past:
Think up a haiku
Showering, but it’s gone when
Done. Oh greatness lost.

A new haiku for
A new day, always writing
Another poem
Blast from the Past:
Today’s haiku would
Be easier to write with
Some inspiration.

Beautiful pictures
But lacking any sense of
Self and sympathy
Blast from the Past:
A picture’s worth a
Thousand words, but a film’s worth
A thousand pictures.

The best haikus are
The ones that I never
End up writing down
Blast from the Past:
Ode to that great thought
That disappeared when I went
To write it down here.

Sitting by the fire
Staring into the flames, wondering
Whether I exist
Blast from the Past:
Camping
Where time collapses
Into the fire’s flames

Bold city skyline
Trying to become something
New under the sun
Blast from the Past:
Gazing at the skyline
Contemplating the fall of
Capitalism

Ancient corpse rising
From my steps, flaming world that
I always betray.
Blast from the Past:
Empty your storehouse
Unto others as if they
Want your leftovers.
