I sit in your box
Wondering how I can move
Beyond these tall walls
Blast from the Past:
Life’s a chocolate
Box, unsure what you’ll get, but
Each has freaking coffee.

Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.
Poems about navigating life

I sit in your box
Wondering how I can move
Beyond these tall walls
Blast from the Past:
Life’s a chocolate
Box, unsure what you’ll get, but
Each has freaking coffee.

Fame only postpones
How long it takes history
To forget you
Blast from the Past:
History always
Exists within the cosmos,
As just one small part

We live in cycles
Of failure and success
Forever moving
Towards balance
Blast from the Past:
How grounded we are,
Breathing the earth we make up,
In, out, forever

As the world grows big,
I feel as if everything
Runs away from me.
Blast from the Past:
The process of life
One becomes and unbecomes
Reformed with others

Decisions, decisions, decisions
Build on the crater
Of many indecisions
Blast from the Past:
The facts can depress,
Only showing the extent
We will likely fail.

Whether we’re ready
We are thrust into the world
To endure together
Blast from the Past:
You are the rain cloud
That prevents me from being
Scorched by my own sun.

At the edge of who I am, I stand
Determining what it would even mean
To venture forward
Blast from the Past:
I’ve been standing on
The edge of what I have been
And what I could be.

Where is
The breath of life
For these dry bones?
Blast from the Past:
Their story of me
Ends as my tale continues
Defining itself

How come humans can’t
Enjoy what we have without
Suffering for it
Blast from the Past:
Very few people
If they knew the harm they’d cause
Would still go do it

Driving in my car
Watching the changes
That never seem to happen in the world
Listening as Garrison Keillor
Teaches me how to transition
Into middle age
Blast from the Past:
Slip slowly into
Unconsciousness just to face
The same old problems.
