It is New Years now
I sit here with my girlfriend
I think I’m happy
Blast from the Past:
New Years rolls around.
What is the first thing I do?
Proceed straight to bed.

Poems about navigating life

It is New Years now
I sit here with my girlfriend
I think I’m happy
Blast from the Past:
New Years rolls around.
What is the first thing I do?
Proceed straight to bed.

Personal impacts
Are fleeting wrinkles like a
Ripple in water
Blast from the Past:
Removal from drive
Comes with the removal of
Want and connection

Death clings to his eyes,
Donning the skin of the world,
He sleeps in his hands.
Blast from the Past:
Silence comes too late
To escape my passive fate
Death I can’t negate

Our species stand tall
Among nature with grand lives
That end in our deaths.
Blast from the Past:
We laughed together
As we thought about what will
Happen after death

Exhausted, going
Through the motions of life like
I had energy
Blast from the past:
In the search for wonder
There are no endings
Only beginnings,
Eternal exhaustion

I am wide awake
From the wondrous feeling of
Exhilaration
Blast from the past:
If this is Enlightenment,
Then there is no Enlightenment.
Only a moment of happiness

Today’s my birthday.
How to make it special when
You love everyday?
Blast from the past:
New revolution
In our random time cycle,
Supposed new me

Our entire day
Channeled through the pulsations
Of the clicking clock
Blast from the Past:
Release your desires,
A drop in the bucket of
Human endeavor

Life’s just one more day
Then another “one more day”
After another
Blast from the Past:
Ties and collared shirts
Washed onto the shore in the tide,
In and out each day

My poem for today is a longer poem, not a haiku like normal. I hope you enjoy, though.
To the courage of resilience.
To the courage of persevering through.Sometimes, you must confront the demons in front of you,
Journey into your Mordor,
Tell your Pharaohs that you and your people are free
And that he shall not stand in your way.Too often, others remain content in their half-shires,
Laying the bricks they are told to,
Afraid that venturing out of their shire will only disrupt the little stasis they have.
If only they appease their demons, maybe it won’t be so bad.But it takes true courage to refuse to settle for stasis
And to say, “Enough is enough.”
To reject cheap resolutions, cheap contentment, cheap “it-will-all-be-okays”.
To pursue true vitality,
Even if it requires risky climbs,
Dragging your Gollum along every step of the way,
And like a doctor, having the courage to rebreak the broken bones
That others rush into for a forced equilibrium
To ensure it can heal properly
Blast from the past:
The “immortal” life:
Histories of the future:
Bloodily crashing
