Endless planks leading
To the ocean’s horizon,
How far should I go?
Blast from the Past:
I walk along the
Path that refuses to begin,
Eternal present
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.

Endless planks leading
To the ocean’s horizon,
How far should I go?
Blast from the Past:
I walk along the
Path that refuses to begin,
Eternal present

Tired, unable
To sleep in the airport
A walking zombie
Blast from the Past:
This wasted effort
To get some sleep that never
Really wants to stay.

Ode to that great thought
That disappeared when I went
To write it down.
Blast from the Past:
Combed inspiration
Within, but all I unearthed
Was my own sifting

The Mall
Cold, sterilized air
Shops selling their combos of
Flavored sugar flour
What country even is this?
Does it make a difference?
Blast from the Past:
Markets, malls, online,
Peddling the same old stuff
Under the setting sun.

Exhausted I think
About all my conflicted
Emotions
Blast from the past:
Continue to grow
Always, whether you do that
With or without me

Race of suitcases
Flurry of sandals and heels
Leaving the subway
Blast from the Past:
Sitting on the subway,
Buried in the exhausting
World of franchises

Oh, spring renewal
A time to fix old mistakes
By making new ones
Blast from the Past:
A spring sky so clear
That you feel you are seeing
Into tomorrow.

I
Let
I let you
I let you go once
I let you go before I knew
(This is a Fibonacci Poem.)
Blast from the Past:
As we moved closer,
Our rainbow disappeared from
Right in front of us.

Another moment
When my thoughts are racing and
I’m hoping for sleep
Blast from the Past:
Revel in darkness.
Woke up afraid of my shadow.
Sleep off my demons.

Here on the toilet
Trying to write a haiku
Soon I will be done
Blast from the Past:
Think up a haiku
Showering, but it’s gone when
Done. Oh greatness lost.
