Our collapse won’t give
Us the dignity of a
Violin to play
Blast from the Past:
Are we flying, or
Simply falling more slowly,
Prolonging our crash?
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.

Our collapse won’t give
Us the dignity of a
Violin to play
Blast from the Past:
Are we flying, or
Simply falling more slowly,
Prolonging our crash?

The sun of freedom
Only radiates more brightly
When forced into a dark chamber
Blast from the past:
No more politics
To dilate our eyes as we
Look upon the world

Anticipation
Irresistibility
Exhilaration
Blast from the Past:
The roving wind
Patterned air pushing more air
To a new cycle

Standing there, luring
Despair astray, erasing
Expanses of hope
Blast from the past:
In the darkest night
The lonely moon still shines.
Hope for dark days ahead

Bored in a meeting,
Scribbling down a haiku,
But no one can see.
Blast from the Past:
Sitting with your work
Wondering who will read it
Utter loneliness

I wander through these
Fugitive worlds. My face my
Only companion.
Blast from the past:
Hunger for beyond
Do not choose this illusion
Freedom is the key

Brief introduction
To your friendly neighborhood
Totalitarianism
Blast from the past:
Young lad standing proud
Once the pride of our nation
Slouched into nothing

Healing emulates
Even from what might be the
Most painful venom
Blast from the past:
When they are hurting,
Why do some feel natural
Hurting others too?

Your culture won’t end
With an apocalypse but
Incremental change
Blast from the past:
People soon notice
Their social fabric crumbling.
The world just spins on.

There’s nothing for us,
And there’s nothing against us.
We’re here by default.
Blast from the past:
I can’t go on, I’ll
Go on, keeping going on,
Until I go on.
