I hope you can
Give yourself the hugs
That I could never seem to give you

I hope you can
Stabilize the life
I kept moving beneath you.

I hope you can build
A place for yourself
I could never create with you.

I hope you can give
Yourself enough space to be
In a world trying to snuff you out.

I hope you can get
The anger to keep going
Even if it’s directed at me.

I hope you can continue
To fail with a courage
I will never be able to muster.

I hope you can laugh
In the way that
I never seemed to understand.

I hope you can have
The adventures
I never had time for.

I hope you can grieve
For what could have been
So that you never accept anything less

I hope you can see
Beyond the storm
At the life you’d love to live.

I hope when you remember our time together
You remember it just fondly enough to keep going
But with just enough anger at me
To try to prove me wrong.

Blast from the past:

You
Me
You and me
You and me falter
You and me falter every day

select love
from him
join her
on child
where
womb is null

(I wrote my poem for today in the programming language SQL.)

Blast from the past:

There is nothing one
Can give that is friendlier
Than one’s very tears.

Towering buildings shrink
Into spots on a grid
As this grid too
Becomes one of only a few dots
Of human habitation
On this vast planet

Blast from the Past:

Realizing my job’s
One drop in the ocean of
Human endeavor

Suppose you and I are the same.
Then you multiply me the same way I multiply myself
What if I then take the way you multiply yourself?
You and me multiplies with you without me the same way you multiply with me without you.
Ok, just divide you without me.
What is left?
You and I are the same as just you.
You are the same as two of me
As you become nothing

Blast from the Past:

Persuasive rebuke
A studied provocation
Influence lingered

Poetry is the
Window into
The impossible
Through the words of
The possible

Blast from the Past:

To learn what is possible,
You must cross into
The impossible.

People who get lost
In their fantasies struggle
With reality.
Eventually, their bubble
Will have to burst in their face

Blast from the Past:

Loosen the chains of
Reason and bathe in the sea
Of your fantasy
