Contemplate, not think
Non-light that illumines dreams
Vast depths of a truth
Blast from the Past:
Climbing temple stairs,
Breaking here to contemplate
My mortality
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.

Contemplate, not think
Non-light that illumines dreams
Vast depths of a truth
Blast from the Past:
Climbing temple stairs,
Breaking here to contemplate
My mortality

You can never hope
When you think you have all that
You need in your life
Blast from the Past:
Climbing to then fall
Fossilized in poverty
Hoping for rebirth

An imagined past
A prologue of the future
Just makeshift maybes
Blast from the Past:
Nostalgia
Hiding your bias:
That was how it used to be.
Bogus history.

After a long week,
I can finally take a
Moment for myself
Blast from the Past:
The gentle cool breeze
And no new information
A relaxed mind

Make this place your own
Decorate your prison cell,
Shelf of empty jars
Blast from the Past:
Have we trapped ourselves
Inside unsatisfying
Narratives of gain?

It is better we die in our
Eras
With contentedness and
Resolve
With triumph for our brave new world, after
Nothing
Lies in our way than to see it all fall apart
Cursed to
Witness all we hold dear receive a
Slow death
This is the first time I wrote a waltmarie. It’s a 10 line poem where the even lines must be two syllables, and if you remove them form a poem all their own.
Blast from the Past:
After every
Apocalypse, you awake to
Just another day

My running mouth seems
To provide me enough rope
To hang myself with.
Blast from the Past:
Growing within me,
Struggling to become heard,
This feeling I have yearns

Why do I get my
Big moments of clarity
As I drift to sleep?
Blast from the Past:
Once I gained insight
Satisfied I went to bed
And quickly lost it.

Chosen one of pain
Hurled myself into these souls
Tastes better than good
Blast from the Past:
Pregnant without child
Contractual pain of birth
Without the waters

The dogs
From across the street
Bark at
Whatever is going on
Out there
My poem for today is a gogyohka.
Blast from the Past:
He stood observing
Never taking a risk as
His moments passed by
