Trees peak in and out
As the fog rolls off the hills
Opening up space
Blast from the Past:
Beyond the limits
Set by empty space lies a
New infinitude
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.

Trees peak in and out
As the fog rolls off the hills
Opening up space
Blast from the Past:
Beyond the limits
Set by empty space lies a
New infinitude

Nothing’s happening.
The world spins on outside my walls
While I just stay home
Blast from the Past:
I show up every
Day, going through the motions.
Nothing seems to change

The little things you
Don’t notice often matter
The most to others
Blast from the Past:
Persuasive rebuke
A studied provocation
Influence lingered

Sleeping in after
Adventures throughout the countryside
A slow morning yawn
(I am feeling less literal in my syllable counts today.)
Blast from the Past:
Sleeping in, you learn
The extent to which the world
Spins on without you

Like a galaxy,
Oh the wondrous beauty of
Street trash in the rain
Blast from the Past:
Tick tock of the clock
With the faint trickle underneath
Of a gushing stream

On a motorbike
Flying down the mountain as
The fog covers us
Blast from the Past:
I look out to see
Mountains no one’s ever seen.
Time to start climbing

New culture, the same
Old struggle to remain sane
In this crazy world
Blast from the Past:
Behind the walls
Of his culture yet taking
The whole system down.

Disguised flattery
Delusionally earnest
Disgustingly done
Blast from the Past:
Sickening theory
But reality is more
Sophisticated

When you truly look
Into someone’s eyes, you see
The child they once were
Blast from the Past:
It may take some time
Till you glimpse the inner child
Behind the tantrum
(This article I wrote describes the idea of looking at other adult’s inner child in more detail.)

I’m the void you shout
To, and all I do is dare
To ask questions back
Blast from the Past:
Dig even deeper
It continues to lie there
Even deeper still
