What comes of the day
With morning’s quiet passing?
After the dew fades.
Blast from the Past:
As long as it’s here
As long as it’s here at last,
I will be happy
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.

What comes of the day
With morning’s quiet passing?
After the dew fades.
Blast from the Past:
As long as it’s here
As long as it’s here at last,
I will be happy

What questions persist,
What keeps you going
After the dew fades
Blast from the Past:
Because I did nothing,
Because I did too much,
Because I did not intervene enough,
Because I interjected too much,
I am leaving your because

New day, new motions,
The same cycle of the sun
After the dew fades
Blast from the Past:
Why do we go through
The motions of living if
The results the same?

After the dew fades,
You must face a new bright day
Again and again
Blast from the Past:
Why must learning be
So slow and agonizing,
Redone each new day

As my youth simmers,
Some parts harden into me
After the dew fades
Blast from the Past:
Young kids stare amazed
Fingers typing, “Dupe dupe dupe!”
At the typewriter

Each morning I wake,
Force myself into the day
After the day fades
An Alternative Version:
Each morning I stand,
Force myself into the day
After the day fades

When life’s spark simmers,
A persistent residue
After the dew fades
Blast from the Past:
I beg for water,
For my bucket is filled with
Fresh morning glories

What comes of the day?
The morning’s quiet passes
After the dew fades
Blast from the Past:
My emotions fade
Like morning dew in the sun
To return the next day

The world passes by
You stay still, always changing
After the dew fades
Blast from the Past:
Nothing’s happening.
I’m just writing this haiku
While the world spins by.

I sit in your box
Wondering the next moment
I can move beyond these walls
Blast from the Past:
I tried but was ignored. Moving on.
Your mind’s made up. Forced darkness.
