04/30/26 A New Haiku for a New Day

After finally
Catching you here in my trap,
Why do I feel bad?

Blast from the past:

Your own destruction
Is the result of trying
To defeat others

select love
from him
join her
on child
where
womb is null

(I wrote my poem for today in the programming language SQL.)

Blast from the past:

There is nothing one
Can give that is friendlier
Than one’s very tears.

Looking down the edge
For a foothold that won’t slide
As the world spins round

Blast from the past:

Don’t climb those distant
Mountains. Just turn your molehills
Into thrilling quests.

One imprint after
Another laid on sand that
The waves take away

Blast from the past:

May the waves of the
Abysmal future be less
Choppy then they look.

You can’t be your best
Person in a place you are
Trying to outgrow.

Blast from the Past:

It’s just me and you
What you water’s what you grow
Growing without you

Through rushes of fire,
Bits turn into the objects
Of glass we all know

Blast from the Past:

Do not use the past
If you would like to know who
I truly am now

Full enlightenment
Opening the lid, conscious
Veiled by no shadow

Blast from the Past:

Faith without doubt is dead, either toxic dogmatism or an insipid mirage.

Heavy dew
Brings out the smell of
Fresh flowers

Blast from the Past:

If you press your ear
Against a seashell, you get
To hear everything.

How long can we stand here
Pretending
Those gods are valid

Blast from the Past:

I am a diamond,
Or at least I hope all of
This stress was worth it

What is a haiku?
Five plus seven then five more
Just an equation?

Blast from the Past:

Inspiration comes
From within your minds eye but
So does writer’s block.
