Smashed against the wall,
Big waves ricochet into
Small pushes and pulls
Blast from the Past:
The higher the wave,
The greater the joy for the
Rock that can break it.
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.

Smashed against the wall,
Big waves ricochet into
Small pushes and pulls
Blast from the Past:
The higher the wave,
The greater the joy for the
Rock that can break it.

To say’s to renew
Nothing is of use to me
I will go with you
Blast from the Past:
One day, we’ll look back
Fondly on this crying, “What
Morons we once were!”

The false broken sky
Where did the lost eagle go?
Where life’s not painful
Blast from the Past:
My feet know where I
Need to go, even while I’m
Lost inside my head…

Alone in the night
Matter has offended me
Life well spent feels long.
Blast from the Past:
The sun’s radiance
Finally gives way to the
Long sigh of the moon

When you’re the one who
Pulled the trigger, you’re left to
Second guess your gun.
Blast from the Past:
I have the blessing
Of being unable to forget
The choice you didn’t give me

It is only when
Light engulfs you that you see
Your shadows within
Blast from the Past:
Always bursting through
The cracks of your perspective,
The light will shine through

It is only when
The world turns dark that you see
Your creepy crawlies
Blast from the Past:
Darkness—when our fears
Become interlocutors
And we must listen.

Anonymous grief
Of the world: nobility
Of spent achievements
Blast from the Past:
Believe in your dreams
As you become a cog
In the work machine

Such intricacies
In every human soul.
Who would murder that?
Blast from the Past:
Indifference to the
Suffering of fellow humans
Corrodes our souls.

Our souls are only the
Side we can see; regime
Of lost consciousness
Blast from the Past:
In the waiting room
For dental surgery.
What even is an
Experience
If you can’t remember it
Afterwards?
What is consciousness
Without memory?
As anesthesia
Dissipates
My questions away
