Fire and water meet,
And out of the clash comes the
Creation of worlds
Blast from the Past:
Fathom creation.
Flee like a belief into
Untouched subtlety.
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.
Fire and water meet,
And out of the clash comes the
Creation of worlds
Blast from the Past:
Fathom creation.
Flee like a belief into
Untouched subtlety.
As the earth consumes
Me, fever and loss are all
That can protect me.
Blast from the Past:
Waking, plagued hands turn
Their rocket’s autopilot
Away from the sun
Even tiny stones
Help alter the river’s course
Each one plays its part
Blast from the Past:
When you yield yourself
To the flood rushing forward,
You float upon it
I based on this second haiku on Medieval Japanese poem: https://www.poetry-chaikhana.com/Poets/I/IkkyuSojunIk/vastflood/index.html
Sitting on your throne
Made of oxhorn, conch, and stone
Alone in your world
Blast from the Past:
In time even the
Wind will give an answer to
Gravity’s promise
Barred teeth, focused eyes
White fangs, dripping with
Your blood
Blast from the Past:
Lay awake then rise
The sun will soon return, to
Reveal your demons
Sowing bombs
Lingering fury at the poor
Seeds of destruction
Blast from the Past:
As the earth consumes
Me, fever and loss are all
That can protect me.
Always looking out
Guarding against foreign threats
Never gazing in
Another version with a different emphasis and themes:
Always looking out
To ward off threats, never sees
The beauty within
All I did today
I did as if others were
Watching over me
Blast from the Past:
Nothing’s more of a
Waste and annoyance than
Careless solemnity.
You know what has a
Soul based on what decides to
Keep its own secrets
Blast from the Past:
Lying to live, or
Living to deceive, losing
Credibility
Life is growth, So if
We’re not growing together,
We’re growing apart
Blast from the Past:
Grow what is working,
And then improve what is not.
Iterative process.
