I rush everywhere
From even the slightest drop
Of any caffeine
Blast from the Past:
Thoughts come then depart
I try and gather them, but
They scatter leaving…
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.

I rush everywhere
From even the slightest drop
Of any caffeine
Blast from the Past:
Thoughts come then depart
I try and gather them, but
They scatter leaving…

Pulled in so many
Directions. Do this. Do that.
Forced through the motions
Blast from the Past:
We must return to
Ourselves after long stretches
To renew our soul

Outside in the heat
On a persistent quest to
Remain hydrated
Blast from the Past:
Winter beach: lilting waves,
Icy wind, quiet: No one’s dumb
Enough to be here.

Can you ever
Smell the scent
Of your own breath?
Blast from the Past:
Cuddle in puddles
Snuggle by bitty puggles
Crumple on rumples

The same tie, same mask
Crowd round your manager
As he does his dance
(This piece of art I saw at a museum yesterday here in Java inspired my poem for today. The artist actually was thinking about societal changes in Kalamatan society here in Indonesia, but it made me personally think about conformity in the corporate world.)
Blast from the Past:
Scrutinizing management,
Flat and unprofitable,
Change is difficult.

Maybe the times when
We are off-track are when we
Are most together
Blast from the Past:
The contemplative
Dislike anything growing
Outside its season

Wake up too early
Without enough sleep. Oh dream,
Don’t leave me so soon.
Blast from the Past:
My bed calls to me:
“Where are you? I miss your warm
Embrace. Come to me.”

Fame only postpones
How long it takes history
To forget you
Blast from the Past:
History always
Exists within the cosmos,
As just one small part

Arising from dust
We are a wild sunflower
Swaying in the breeze
Blast from the Past:
If I were a tree,
I would be curved and twisted
As I search for the sun
And my roots would cling dearly to the earth

As the world grows big,
I feel as if everything
Runs away from me.
Blast from the Past:
The process of life
One becomes and unbecomes
Reformed with others
