Writing a haiku
On a bus as the world flies
By and by outside
Blast from the past:
Singing loud, dancing,
Embodying the ceaseless
Cry for harmony
The Cracked Door – Daily Haikus
Reflections on life, the world, and society. Come explore with me.

Writing a haiku
On a bus as the world flies
By and by outside
Blast from the past:
Singing loud, dancing,
Embodying the ceaseless
Cry for harmony

Writing a haiku
When I’m not sure what to say
Put words on a page
Blast from the past:
Inspiration flees
When it realizes you’re
Desperately tracking it.

The sense of the self
Filters to us from every
Commercial we watch
Blast from the past:
The former ghost town
Now bristling with commuters
Dodging the ritzy

No matter the effort,
One cannot purify
Someone else for them
Blast from the past:
This moment will pass
Like all preceding moments
And all yet to come.

A day of rest where
I can just relax without
Anything to prove
Blast from the past:
Born with black and white.
Yellow and red comes. Fully
Could see with the blues.

A stale life is bad,
But you can turn it around.
Death is permanent.
Blast from the past:
Why would you lessen
An otherwise great life through
Such a boring death?

Deep within me lies
The desire to raze the world
And build it anew.
Blast from the past:
In our land devoured
By myths of the exceptional
Advancing to “survive”

Mud kicking up
Sliding down and sliding up
Push little by little
Blast from the past:
Comedy faces
Life’s contradictions and says
Something about it

You idolize him,
But does he remember your name?
A pathetic god.
Blast from the past:
Old secrets and lies
Differing expectations
Weird relationship

Metrics for success
Never depict the success
I want in my life
Blast from the past:
Can you understand
These lives have more value than
Quarterly earnings?
